In 1996, I upgraded my
computer so that I could write and exchange electronic mail (e-mail). It
was about as big a leap for me in communication as when I got my first typewriter
for high school graduation. I can now right and send pour gramar and multitudes
of missppelledd words all over the world faster than ever befour! :-)
There are side effects though. I am having trouble with handwriting
since I am not using it much, and I have a hard time sending "snail mail"...I
mean, through the post office. I just hate to think it could take a day
or more to deliver my message!
Proper communication is so important. Paul wanted to make sure
the Thessalonians knew they should keep communicating with other believers.
He wrote "Greet all the brethren with a holy kiss" (1
Thessalonians 5:25-28).
Whether you feel comfortable with a "holy kiss", handshake
or hug is up to you. But the important thing is that we communicate our
genuine love and affection for other believers. We are part of a family
that crosses
all racial, social and geographical boundaries. Someday we will join together
to share eternity with other followers of Jesus Christ.
The Lord wants you to have a little taste
of Heaven now. Greet others in a holy manner. Let other believers
know you really do care about them like Jesus wants you too. |
