We have a busy household. With three children in high school, one in Jr.
High and Sarah away at college, the going back and forth can be almost tiring
to watch. Add in some seasonal sports events and we can have kids strung
all over Western South Dakota!
5 year old Ben and 3 year old Daniel live in a different world.
There is seldom an appointment for them or a schedule that is any more filled
than the times for meals. Their goal is often to get outside to play with
their friends as soon as possible.
With all the coming and going, a question sometimes comes to their minds.
It may be framed something like this: "If you are going to school and you
are going to a meeting and you are going to the store, who's going to baby-sit
me?"
Ben and Daniel have, of course, never been abandoned to take
care of themselves. But there is something about the impermanence of all
the hustle and bustle that fosters such a question. Should a similar one
come to mind when you think about Who is watching over you, consider 1
Thessalonians 5:24, "Faithful is He who calls you and He will bring
it to pass." Our Lord won't just leave us hanging. He has provided that
all will be taken care of.
You can trust in the Lord with all your heart. He is faithful. He will always
watch over you.
Ask Him to teach you to be a trusting child.
