It is amazing how much mileage a small child can get out of a common toy.
Our 3 and 4 year old sons, Daniel and Ben have no shortage of little cars,
small people and animals. Watching them about a room can be quite interesting.
There are more places to park a car or stable a horse in my living room
than I would have ever guessed! Sometimes cars get parked on drawer handles
and book bindings while houses are built just where my "giant feet" want
to walk.
Playing is fun but it needs to be in its place. If I find one
of those houses in the dark tonight with bare feet, I may not be too happy
with the architect!
The church at Thessalonica is my favorite Bible church. Unlike
my children who are just playing at really getting anything done with their
little houses, these people were accomplishing something. Paul says he is
"constantly bearing in mind (their) work of faith and labor of love and
steadfastness of hope in our Lord Jesus Christ.." (1
Thesalonians. 1:3).
The Thessalonians weren't just out spinning their wheels, making
things look good. They had a plan. God expects us to not just play around
either. He has given you and me the brains and physical ability to do what
He has willed for our lives.
Have you thought today about what God would have you to do
with what He has given you? Don't just park the play toys on the table and
call it good. Look for what God wants you to do and where he wants you to
go today.
He has a master plan for you.
Have you asked Him about it?
