Almost
every day of my life I do something very dangerous: I get into my car and drive
down the road at 40 miles an hour. You may not think it is all that dangerous,
but others coming toward me are also going 40. The combined speed of a head-on
impact would be 80 miles an hour! I have to believe that those coming toward me
are going to stay in their lane. To live life day-to-day takes faith. You cannot drive anywhere, sit in the chair, pick up the phone, or go out into public, without exercising faith. People who cannot trust at all cannot function. "Doubting Thomas", Jesus' disciple, resisted believing that Jesus had raised from the dead. His resistance cost him a week of the joy. While the other disciples were rejoicing, Thomas could do no more than continue in his grief. He chose not to believe. What miraculous things has God done in your life that you simply refuse to believe? What joyful blessings are you missing because you have a doubter's attitude? Jesus told Thomas, "Because you have seen me, you have believed; blessed are those who have not seen any yet have believed." You will be blessed today if you walk by faith. You will be blessed if you believe and live like Jesus has indeed risen from the dead!
