Monthly
I receive several catalogs from computer and electronics companies. If I have
the time, I can easily spend an hour just looking over the gadgets and goodies
these have to offer. If I had a lot more money, I would probably have a lot more
stuff from them. Sometimes it is hard to decide what to buy even if I am after
a certain type of thing. Trying to decide what car to buy, where to go on vacation, what job to take, or at what restaurant to eat, can be kind of challenging in our western culture. We have so many choices. A Christian should remember to ask, "what does God want me to do?" Paul told the Colossians that he was praying for them to "be filled with the knowledge of His (God's) will" (verse 9 ). Verses 10 & 11 then explain that knowing His will helps us to walk in a manner pleasing to God, bear godly fruit, know God better, and have more spiritual power. Have you prayed for knowledge of His will for yourself or others? WHO you are is more important than where you are in doing God's will. To be that person, are you relating daily to God the Father through Jesus Christ His Son? Do you look at the catalog of life and give thought to the Lord's will? There is so much to choose from out there. If you want to choose wisely, consider God's desires. Delight yourself in Him. (Psalm 37:4 )
