Periodically
our house needs painting. A year ago a storm that did a lot of damage around
here moved our painting schedule up a few years. Not to be left out, Ben
and Daniel decided to paint their rough wood play house in the backyard.
Fortunately, they couldn't get to any paint. Unfortunately they did make
some mud in the garden. I suppose boys playing and even painting with mud is natural. I might have even done it myself when I was their age. But they were under orders when they went out the SECOND time not to get all dirty because we had plans for later. But, boys will be boys when it comes to mud. One problem with painting with mud is that it really doesn't last very long. It is just a temporary covering with no lasting protective value. Paul described the "lawless one" in 2 Thessalonians 2:7 & 12 as one whom the Lord would "slay with the breath of His mouth." Just like the mud paint that will wash away with rain, Jesus' first exhale without even any words will destroy the works of Satan and his followers. A lot of what goes on round me is disheartening and scary at times. But I know Who is victor and Who will win when the time is up. Jesus Christ! It is He who I follow and trust to bring me safely to His presence. You can rejoice today! We have another reason to be thankful. Satan is only painting in mud!
