Electricity
is fascinating. I know it is present in the wires that surround me in this
building. But I can't see it, smell it or hear it. The only way I
can be sure of its presence is to observe it doing something. I can plug in an electrical appliance or turn on a light. I can put a meter to it and watch an indicator move. Even when it sparks or lightning strikes, all I am really seeing is what it is doing to the air it is passing through. Recently I watched a power line dance dramatically and throw sparks as it interacted with some water on the ground. Since I was close by when it first touched, I was glad that something was showing me that electricity was present. Most of us know that the Bible teaches that God the Father is not visible to humans. Neither is the Holy Spirit. Jesus Christ, God's Son, "reveals" the Father to us. He was God in the flesh. But Jesus is no longer on this earth in human form, so how do we know what God is like? The answer is in you! Yes, if you are a true believer, you have an awesome responsibility. 1 John 4:12 says, "No one has seen God at any time; if we love one another, God abides in us, and His love is perfected in us." Whose job is it to show God through His love? Ours! There is a song that says something like; you're the only Jesus some will ever see." How well are you representing Him today?
