Even
before we made our move to Kittredge, Colorado
to take the helm of our new ministry, we heard about the cougars sighted around
the area. Seems that mama cougar has three cubs she is attending and training
to do what cougars need to
do to survive.
Hunting is an art with big cats. There
are little nuances and tricks a smart animal will learn and take advantage of.
It is believed the reason this
Rocky Mountain lion prefers hunting so close to people is the availability of
small animals like raccoons
and family pets! There have even been reported hunting and attacks on
humans in recent years. To say the least, this is not a comforting thought
for someone with children who
like to play outside!
In 1
Peter 5:8 Peter wrote, "Be of sober
spirit, be on the alert. Your adversary, the devil, prowls around like a roaring
lion, seeking someone to devour."
Satan is out hunting you and me. He is prowling
about looking for a victim to "devour."
What's a potential menu item to do?
"Resist him, firm in your faith... " (1
Peter 5:9). I am to go to the Lord Jesus Christ for strength
to resist his attack. To do so, the Christian should also be armed with
the Word of God, the Bible.
Even Jesus quoted Scripture when tempted by Satan in the wilderness. Properly
prepared you can stand against
the attacks of the enemy of your soul!
