In
our children's younger years it was a big job to keep the floor clean around
our home. The children were consistently expected to take their shoes off at
the door. If they hadn't, who knows what they might have tracked in? One our biggest floor messers was Ben. He didn't wear shoes but he sure could make a mess on the floor, especially when he fed himself. Sometimes I think he put food on the floor just so he could come back later for a snack! Once Ben fed some of his "extra" cereal to some baby chicks we had in a box in the house. At one year of age, he understood that they ate some of the same things he did. The spiritual feeding of other believers is sometimes a bit messy. But they need the same nourishment as you do. Truth should be put down where it can be taken in by others in the Body of Christ. Colossians 3:16 says, "Let the word of Christ richly dwell within you, with all wisdom teaching and admonishing one another with psalms and hymns and spiritual songs... " It's like one baby feeding another; one Child of God helping another. It is not always neat and clean. Mistakes are made, but God can handle that. You may not be very far along yourself, but you still have something to share. Have you looked around to see who you should be helping? Taking part in the feeding of God's other children is our job in the Body of Christ. Why not start off this new year with that in your resolutions?
