A perennial "guest" at our house in the fall are little fruit flies. When all the fresh vegetables start coming in the door, they bring with them pesky flies a little larger than a gnat. They love ripe fruit and vegetables and can multiply several generations in just a few days. They are a part of God's system for breaking down the waste of the world, but sometimes they get ahead of their calling and start on stuff  I planned to eat.
They make a good illustration of the type of person Paul warns against in the middle of today's reading. 2 Thessalonians, 3:11  says, "For we hear that some among you are leading an undisciplined life, doing no work at all, but acting like busybodies."  Paul says in verse 14, if those people won't straighten out, don't associate with them.
My problem is not so much with running into this type of character.  I want to make sure I am not like them myself.  I desire to live the way the Lord wants me to.  I want to take 2 Thess. 3:13 to heart, "But as for you, brethren, do not grow weary of doing good."  In other words, 'keep it up!'
Someday  we will have to answer  for our use of time and the words we have said. Will you and I be happy to stand before the Lord for those things, or would we like to just skip that time?
You might pray, "Father in heaven, I don't want to be a busybody fruit fly."
